While site clearing, excavation and foundation work is progressing, Porter Panel and Truss is engineering and building the wall, floor and roof panels all in a climate controlled environment. By utilizing this process we are able to erect and make weather tight a 4,800 SF cottage style homes in just 10 days, substantially reducing the homes exposure to the weather, substantially reducing the overall construction schedule while greatly increasing the predictability and value of your new home. Steel framed homes while more common in other parts of the country, are somewhat new to New England. Light gage steel framing provides several advantages to the homeowner especially those wishing to maximize sustainable design and minimize their impact on the environment. Steel used in the manufacture of these homes is sourced largely from recycled automobiles. The recycled steel framing is stronger than wood and doesn't twist, warp, crack, or swell and shrink with the seasons. Metal doesn't support mold growth and is not susceptible insect infestation.
